Saint Sauveur is a small town in the Laurentians 60 km north of Montreal. It is well known for its local ski areas. In summer the many restaurants and cafés, as well as outdoor concerts, attract a number of visitors. It is a town full of life, but just a few meters away in the back streets it is very quiet and you will see beautiful country homes.

A French restaurant “La Boheme” which is very popular
some of the restaurants already decorated for Halloween
some people still sitting outside even it is getting colder

I like especially the second house, the little wooden one. You see some really cute little houses there, right out of a picture book. Lucky them who live in them !!!

The blue door on the Souvlaki shop is obviously run by some very proud Greeks. Thanks for the tour. It looks a lot like some places in Australia.

Thank you for your comment. I am sure there are similar places in Australia. some people think it also looks a bit like in Austria because of the ski hills in the background. It is really a nice little town and very popular with visitors.

Your beautiful photos show that we don’t need to travel to other destinations to explore our world. There is so much to see around us! Reminds me of a favorite quote by Marcel Proust: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”

Another set of lovely pics. Often wonder if people who grow up and live in these places would be different from people growing up and loving in crowded, built-up, uncared for surroundings. They have to be.

Thank you for your comment. I think that people who grow up in crowded built-up surroundings will definitely appreciate these nicer places. But not always. Some people like it crowded and shabby. I myself grew up in a shabby place and I do appreciate these quiet nice places now. On the other hand there are people who have always lived in beautiful rich places and they are unhappy and don’t appreciate anything. It really depends what kind of person you are. Lara
