Despite the freezing cold and icy roads Montreal looks very pretty with its snow covered streets, trees and houses. There seems to be something magic when everything is white outside and dark streets become light at night, casting shadows from the street lamps and holiday lights. Not only the city, but also the suburbs, are pretty at this time of the year. Here are some examples…
a lovely entrance and stairs of a house in the downtown area of Montreal
lovely architecture in the center of Montreal
downtown Montreal in winter
the Big Wheel of Montreal
The clock tower in the old port of Montreal
a street in Old Montreal
romantic street in the Villeray district of Montreal
the look…after a snowstorm here in Laval
a lovely street in Rosemere, a suburb of Montreal
another snow covered street in Rosemere
beautiful houses covered in snow, here in St. Therese
Beautiful photos 🙂

How amazing and beautiful. It is hard for me to comprehend. We don’t get snow very often in Melbourne and then it melts as soon as it hits the ground.

Thank you. Yes, the snow looks lovely but after a while it gets too much, especially when it is mixed with ice and the temperatures are -20C. The winter will last another 2 months and then we will look forward to spring and summer.

So weihnachtlich.

Monika.

Charming photos. I was in Montreal two summers ago and recognize many of the areas in your pictures. I also visited the underground mall, which I guess is popular this time of year. 🙂

Thank you so much. Montreal is really a lovely city and in winter, with the snow, it does look magic and when it is not too cold it is fun to go for walks outside. Luckily we also have a lot of indoor shopping malls.

I was in Montreal a couple weeks ago and the snow had the same enchanting quality as in these pictures; it’s a joy to behold. The snow here in New York doesn’t feel as magical, I guess because they’re such different places overall. Lovely pics!

Thank you so much. I am glad you like the pics, but now….in April…..I wish that the weather would get warmer. It is true though that Montreal looks magical in winter, especially after a heavy snowfall when everything is white outside.
