It is with deepest sadness and a broken heart that I have to tell you that my beloved Tina, my best friend, has passed away suddenly after a short serious illness.  She was 14 years old.  Because it was so unexpected it is so painful to deal with this loss.   I wish she could have lived forever, and I will miss her so much.   I only know that one day we shall meet again.  This blog will continue in her name and her pictures will continue to feature regularly.

Dear Tina,

A million words would not bring you back, I know I have tried, neither would a million tears, I know because I have cried…….

  1. Oh My, I am so very, very sorry for your lost. I know because I have cried the same tears of a lost best friend, her name was Pepper. I hope one day you will find the strength to smile while remembering the fun and joy she brought into your life. My heart is reaching out to you with hugs. :-).

    1. Thank you so much. Your words help me a lot. I hope that one day this immense pain will go away. I never thought that I would miss her so much. She was my best friend and the best dog you could have. She appreciated everything so much because she was an abandoned dog before I found her. I am sure that one day we will meet again. Thank you so much for your caring words.

    1. Liebe Monika. Vielen Dank für Deine lieben Worte. Ja, es tut so weh, dass meine Tina nicht mehr da ist. Vor allem nachdem das alles so plötzlich kam. Niemand wusste, bis zur letzten Woche, dass sie Krebs hatte weil es vorher keine Symptome gab. Leider konnte man sie nicht mehr retten. Ich denke auch, dass sie von oben runterschaut und immer mit mir geht wie ein Schatten, bis wir uns eines Tages wieder sehen. Lara💖

  11. Es ist so unendlich traurig, sein geliebtes Tierchen zu verlieren. Der, der zurück bleibt, leidet. Tina wird Dich von oben begleiten, immer bei Dir sein und Dir helfen, die Trauer zu überwinden. Und irgendwann gibt es ein Wiedersehn. Auf der anderen Seite der Regenbogenbrücke wird sie auf Dich warten.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind and caring words. Yes, it is really very hard for me right now. It was something I just never expected, even though she was an older dog. She was still in good shape even one week before and then all the symptoms came suddenly. In hospital (we have one of the best and biggest hospitals for animals here) they found that she had cancer which had already spread to other organs and they could no longer do anything for her. My poor Tina was only suffering the last few days and when she left us I just could not believe that she was gone. Even now I cannot quite believe it. I still feel that she is here and it will take a long time to adjust to the empty life without her. I only know that she is now in heaven and waiting for me and one day we will meet again. Thank you again for your kind words. It helps a lot 🌈💕

  14. So sorry for your loss . Although I have never owned a pet I can sense your feelings .Do remember you are enriched with all the sweet moments now as memories for a lifetime .God bless

    1. Thank you so much. I know it is difficult to understand this incredible loss when losing a pet but it is similar to losing a best friend. Your pet becomes part of your life and your family and so attached that we think they will always stay with us. Unfortunately their lives are so short and once they are gone we miss them terribly and leave a big void in our lives. Thank you so much for your caring thoughts. Lots of love to you 💜

      1. Yes how heartfully said! . My brother happens to be a huge animal lover and also plays an active role volunteering for the Blue cross in India . His home is always full of pets …. Currently he has three cats and a dog but he has often taken care of and sheltered a variety of pets over the years often they happen to be abandoned or strays and often maimed as well. Having seen that I relate to what you mention here about them becoming a part of your family. 💙💜💙

  15. I am really sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. I can feel what you are going through. I lost my best buddy some years back. His name was Pluto and he was a Dalmation. What beautiful creature dogs are. ♥ May Tina rest in peace. ♥

  17. So sorry for your loss.This just made me cry. I have my dog brother his name is Kian. He is 12 years old now. I got him when he was such a mischievous pup and now he has got old. And this post has scared me.. 😕😢

    1. Thank you so much. I am sure you must love your Kian very much. Unfortunately animals do not live as long as we do and one day the day comes when we will have to say goodbye. It is very painful. That is why we must appreciate every minute and hour we can spend with them. Your Kian is only 12 years old and can still live many more years.   24. Oh, dear Lara, my heart aches for you. I’m sorry to just now be getting back to your blog and finding this sad post. These beautiful animals become such a major part of our lives for way too short a time. When they move on they leave such a huge pawprint on our heart never to be forgotten.     1. Dear Linda, thank you so much for your moving and kind words. I am sure you know how it feels when we lose our pet which was for so many years our best friend, and always on our side. Tina was the best and sweetest dog one could wish for and now everything is so empty without her. It is really hard. I only hope that time will heal and perhaps, after some time, I will be able to rescue another sweet animal from the shelter just like I have rescued Tina so many years ago.       1. Thank you, dear Lara. I know from experience that in time the silence becomes deafening and can only be filled by another loving heart and pitty-pat of paws waiting to be rescued. And trust me when I say that it in no way diminishes the love for the one departed. I have had dogs since I was three years old and cats and dogs since 2001 (rarely without a pet in my life) and the presence of those who have moved on is still felt as if they were here. I know in my heart that we will be reunited with our beloved animals again. The Lord would not give us this love if that were not the case. Love is eternal! You will know when or if the time is right for you to reach out. Love and hugs, Linda ❤

  26. So sorry for your loss. Dog lovers understand that they are not just pets; they are family. We talk to them, hug them and love them. In their short lives they give us unconditional love and loyalty. Tina’s spirit lives on in your memory. Take care.

  35. Oh so very sorry to read this has happened. Pets are such an important part of our lives, cherished family members and it is so difficult to say goodbye. I have been there a couple of times with fur babies and it is terribly hard to deal with. I hope the memories of your beloved Tina will give you some comfort. I’m sure she’s scampering around and will be watching over you till you meet again, take care X
